Human Trafficking

The Maharashtra State Commission for Women in association with Alliance against Centres of Trafficking and The Counter Trafficking Group conducted a State Convening on, Use and abuse of Technology in Human Trafficking on 12th August 2022. The program witnessed the presence of significant dignitaries;Hon'ble Chairperson Smt. Rekha Sharma ji as chief guest, joined by Shri Deepak Pandey ji , IPS, IG PCWC, Maharashtra . Shri Veerendra Mishra ji IPS, AIG/SISF, Police HQ, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh as keynote speaker for the event along with Hon. Chairperson of Maharashtra Womens Commission, Smt. Rupali Chakankar , Smt.Shraddha Joshi IRS, Member Secretary, MSCW, and respected Members and Staff of the Commission Over 100 participants attended the program including officers from Women and Child Development Department , Law Enforcement, Various NGOs, College Authorities and Students .The Expert Panelists conducted focussed discussions , provided various suggestions from the lens of legal, social media, IT and development sectors and highlighted the need to devise sustainable technology based solutions strategies to support prevention and combatting of human trafficking. The speakers included Adv Vaishali Bhagwat, Ms. Uma subramanium, Rati Foundation ; Dr Irfan Siddavatam, Cyber Peace Foundation, Sonali Patankar from Responsible Netism and the Moderator was Ms. Farida Lambay, Co-Founder , Pratham
